Update (Feb./2016) : Returned from UK in Oct '15 as planned. After much consideration, I've decided to take a sabbatical from corporate life. I have been at it, non-stop, for 25 years since leaving Uni. Time to recharge, refocus my energy for the next phase. I'm calling a time-out ... to walkabout.

Update (Dec/2015): Been based in London (for my day job) since Oct.'14. Be back in Singapore by Oct '15. Completing a mix media course from The Art Academy, plus dropping in some life drawing sessions across the city.
=================
Darwin has been in Singapore since 2005 and hails from the Philippines. He was a digital marketing executive for a global investment management company.
In 2008, he took up a weekend portraiture drawing class to shake up his digital-centric work life. He was hooked! He completed two part-time certificate courses- Basic Western Art (2010) and Abstract Painting (2011) - at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) .
Abstraction seems to have taken root as Darwin's point of creative exploration, while he continues to learn various styles and to refine his visual language. Painting without a plan, he reacts with the materials at hand in creating expressive pieces. His paintings intend to elicit an emotional response or connection with viewers through colours and forms. Darwin combines various medium and ephemera on non-traditional support for his current works.
Several of his paintings have been auctioned during his company's charity events and a few have found places in home's of art collectors. .
